Please remember that school started August 24th. Observe and respect cross-walks and flashing red lights on the school busses. It is unlawful to pass a school bus in either direction while red lights are flashing.

August 4, 2016

11:16 p.m. Female reported a “strange smell” near a local apartment complex; Deputy and Reserve Deputy responded to the call; found to be a strong odor of skunk.

August 10, 2016

12:24 a.m. Significant Weather Advisory in effect until 130am for east central Phillips Co; dime sized hail and 40mph gusts are possible.

12:25 a.m. Deputy and Reserve Deputy performed security checks around the Malta area.

10:04 a.m. Sheriff escorted one adult male, Kori Bridle, from PC Justice Court to PCSO Jail to serve time for sentencing.

10:35 a.m. Female reported an erratic vehicle on Hwy 191 south; caller advised the vehicle was all over the Hwy, kept turning flashers and blinkers on and off, then pulled over; Deputy and local MHP Trooper responded to the call; vehicle not located.

11:13 a.m. Female requested a welfare check on a juvenile in the Dodson area; Sheriff handled the call.

12:34 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported a male walking on Hwy 191 south and would be doing a welfare check on him; MHP Trooper later transported this male, Dante Standsoverbull, to PCSO to be incarcerated on a MHP-Blaine Co warrant.

1:14 p.m. Undersheriff transported one adult female, Alexa Whitright, from Yellowstone Co Detention to PCSO to serve time on a local warrant.

2:53 p.m. Local MHP Trooper transported one adult male, Dante Standsoverbull, from PCSO Jail to Valley Co Detention Center to serve time.

3:56 p.m. Undersheriff assisted a motorist with stuck lug nuts on a flat tire’s rim on Hwy 191 south of Malta.

4:26 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a ground transport to Billings; call later canceled as no EMT Crew was available.

4:40 p.m. Male reported a 4wheeler “zipping around Hillcrest”; Deputy responded to the call; 4wheeler not located.

5:14 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pickup from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

5:25 p.m. Female reported an erratic ATV in the Hillcrest area; Deputy responded to the call; one ATV located and was parked with no one around.

10:29 p.m. Local business reported a dog running loose around their building; owner later located.

11:26 p.m. Male reported a dog running loose near his residence; ACO handled the call.

August 11, 2016

7:54 a.m. Male reported another male had found a stray dog on the Dry Fork Road.

11:28 a.m. Local Ambulance transported a patient from the Billings Hospital back to Hi-Line Retirement Center.

12:04 p.m. Reserve Deputy transported one adult female, Alexa Whitright, from PCSO Jail to Valley Co Detention Center to on charges.

12:30 p.m. 911 received reporting a Hit & Run to a vehicle in the Mission Canyon area; call transferred to Ft Belknap LE.

2:21 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported to the Malta High School for county bus inspections for the upcoming school year.

4:23 p.m. Male reported a “divot caused by a rock thrown by a gravel truck”; local MHP Trooper handled the call.

6:52 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pickup from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

7:47 p.m. Male reported a possibly underage male on a dirt bike in the down-town area; Deputies responded to the call; vehicle not located.

A reminder:

Off road motorcycles are for off road use ONLY. The motorcycle must be registered, licensed, and the driver must possess a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement before it can be driven on the streets. There have been numerous complaints to the Sheriff's Office for "dirt bikes" being driven on city and county roads. Helmets are required for rider under the age of 18.

8:31 p.m. Female reported hearing what sounded like gunshots, north of her residence, on the west side of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; situation taken care of without further incident.

August 12, 2016

12:53 a.m. Delivery company reported a possibly abandoned vehicle on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay, driver was just resting.

7:08 a.m. Female requested a welfare check on an elderly female at a local residence; Deputy and a family member responded to the call; all found to be okay.

10:56 a.m. Male reported a stray dog at a local business; caller advised they had called KMMR also.

1:59 p.m. Female reported a crossing arm malfunction and no trains around at the Saco crossing; information passed onto BNSF Police.

5:37 p.m. Female requested a welfare check on another female who didn’t show up for work; Deputies responded to the call; female found to be okay, just overslept.

6:13 p.m. 911 received reporting a disabled motorhome, west of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; occupants had the motorhome towed the next day.

August 13, 2016

12:36 a.m. Deputies performed security checks around the Malta area.

6:31 a.m. Male reported an erratically driving vehicle on Hwy 2, westbound from the Saco area; information passed onto MHP Dispatch.

7:11 a.m. MHP Dispatch received a report of erratically driving vehicle on Hwy 2, westbound from Valley Co; information passed onto Undersheriff; vehicle not located.

9:20 a.m. 911 received reporting an individual had passed away at a local residence; Undersheriff responded to the call; coroner case file started.

9:56 a.m. Local ambulance reported to the Trafton Park rodeo arena for the Boots and Saddles Rodeo.

8:39 p.m. Male reported a lost cooler.

8:46 p.m. Male reported an erratically driving vehicle on Hwy 2, westbound into Malta; Deputies responded to the call; vehicle located and warning issued.

August 14, 2016

7:31 a.m. 911 received requesting assistance for a female who fell; Undersheriff and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient not transported to the hospital.

8:53 a.m. Female reported a dog running loose around a local business; ACO handled the call.

10:16 a.m. Undersheriff released one adult male, Kori Bridle, from PCSO Jail on time served.

12:11 p.m. Male reported a missing truck, thinks it may have been stolen; Under-sheriff and Ft Belknap LE advised of the call.

2:06 p.m. BNSF Police reported a male walking along the tracks near the river; Undersheriff responded to the call; BNSF later reported the male was gone.

2:35 p.m. Female reported a missing horse.

2:47 p.m. Alarm Central reported an alarm sounding at a local building; all found to be okay, individuals were trying to get it shut off.

3:25 p.m. Strong Thunderstorm Warning for most of Phillips Co until 4pm; half inch hail and 30mph winds are possible.

7:38 p.m. Alarm Central reported an alarm sounding at a local building; all found to be okay, individuals were trying to get it shut off.

10:41 p.m. Female reported a possibly injured dog near a local convenience store; Deputy responded to the call; dog found to be okay.

August 15, 2016

9:16 a.m. Female reported a stray dog at her residence south of Malta; information passed onto KMMR.

11:32 a.m. Female reported a young child walking in a field near a residential area without any adults around; Sheriff and Undersheriff responded to the call; caller later reported she found the babysitter.

1:42 p.m. Undersheriff escorted one adult male, Antonio Cuesta, from PC Justice Court to PCSO Jail to serve time on sentencing.

2:10 p.m. Female reported a theft of a firearm from a local residence; Undersheriff responded to the call; case file started.

2:49 p.m. Female reported a possibly stolen vehicle from the Malta area; Sheriff handled the call.

3:18 p.m. Male requested law enforcement advice with a situation involving an infant child; Sheriff handled the call.

6:25 p.m. BNSF Police reported a vehicle parked on a county road, close to the railroad tracks, driving back and forth across the tracks while the train was stopped, east of Dodson; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle not located.

6:55 p.m. Male reported the vehicle he previously reported as stolen had been returned and employee’s position had been terminated; information passed onto Undersheriff.

7:59 p.m. Deputy escorted one adult male, Tricton Nelson, to PCSO Jail to be incarcerated on a Phillips Co warrant.

10:06 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving her husband and a juvenile; Deputy responded to the call; female given a series of options of what could be done.

August 16, 2016

8:08 a.m. Female reported a juvenile had not been returned to her residence as had been told they would be; Sheriff handled the call.

1:54 p.m. Deputy released one adult male, Tricton Nelson, from PCSO Jail for transport to Valley Co Detention Center to serve time; Glasgow PD Officer transported the prisoner.

3:32 p.m. Female reported a missing puppy from the PC Courthouse area; puppy later located and returned to the owner.

6:06 p.m. Female reported a possible theft of property and services; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

7:12 p.m. Local convenience store reported a fuel drive off; Deputy and Reserve Deputy responded to the call; vehicle later located and had paid with a credit card.

August 17, 2016

5:06 a.m. 911 received reporting a male had passed away at a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; coroner case file started.

9:12 a.m. Valley Co SO transported a male prisoner to PCSO Jail to be held until Yellowstone Co SO arrived and assumed custody.

9:26 a.m. Female reported a dead cat on Hwy 191, near the canal bridge; Sheriff responded to the call and removed the animal.

9:45 a.m. Individual reported a hitchhiker walking westbound on Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; hitchhiker not located.

1:36 p.m. Amtrak requested PCSO assistance with a passenger attempting to use a fraudulent credit card; Sheriff and Deputy responded to the call; passenger removed from the train.

3:27 p.m. Local business reported a male walking back and forth on Hwy 2, trying to get a ride.

3:45 p.m. 911 received reporting a vehicle had passed the caller, went into the ditch and back onto Hwy 2; vehicle was eastbound towards Malta; Sheriff and Deputy responded to the call; vehicle located west of the weigh station; Situation handled.

4:46 p.m. Local convenience store reported customers had hit a deer on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; white form issued.

5:41 p.m. Female requested extra patrol around her residence near the skate park as people “were borrowing” things from her yard; information passed onto Deputies.

6:27 p.m. Female reported her dog escaped from her residence in the Greenacres area; KMMR had been advised.

6:51 p.m. Male requested PCSO assistance for a female with a flat tire east of Saco; Deputy responded to the call; female later reported she had contacted a local wrecker and they were coming out to assist.

8:18 p.m. Deputy performed a welfare check on a male walking with two duffel bags near local businesses; all found to be okay, just trying to find a place to leave bags so he could get a cup of coffee, then he was continuing on the way west.

11:49 p.m. Deputies performed security checks around the Malta area.

August 18, 2016

3:08 a.m. Lake Wind Advisory is canceled.

4:14 a.m. Several 911s received from a caller stating he was “lost in the Bear Paws”; caller then stated he was at the DY Junction and was out of fuel; information passed onto a local wrecker service.

9:16 a.m. Female passing through the area reported a lost luggage bag.

10:09 a.m. Male reported the tires on his vehicle and another vehicle had been slashed over the night; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

4:42 p.m. Male filed a written complaint regarding being accused of things “he did not do”; Deputy responded to the call; information added to existing case file.

6:02 p.m. Deputy assisted an individual by giving directions to a business.

7:13 p.m. Male reported the Stine’s crossing had been blocked for “over an hour”; information passed onto BNSF Police.

August 19, 2016

9:03 a.m. Local business requested law enforcement assistance with a theft situation; Sheriff responded to the call; case file started.

5:43 p.m. Male brought in a found BMX bike.

6:17 p.m. Female reported “kids on bikes at the skate park” and requested law enforcement; Deputy handled the call.

6:38 p.m. Female reported a vehicle had run out of fuel west of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay, just waiting for AAA to respond.

7:54 p.m. Female reported “kids chasing her with their bikes”; Deputy handled the call.

7:57 p.m. Off-duty Deputy reported a suspicious vehicle in the Zortman area; Deputy handled the call.

11:08 p.m. Male reported possibly stolen property; Deputy responded to the call; property later located and returned to the owner.

August 20, 2016

7:53 a.m. Female requested assistance for a male who fell and needed help; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

9:56 a.m. Local funeral home requested assistance with traffic control across Central Ave for a funeral procession; Deputy handled the call.

10:11 a.m. Female reported vandalism to her vehicle tires; Deputy responded to the call; information added to existing case file.

10:39 a.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pickup from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

1:55 p.m. Deputy released one adult male, Antonio Cuesta, from PCSO Jail on time served.

5:30 p.m. BNSF Police reported a vehicle between the tracks, east of Dodson; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle found to be abandoned and later pushed off the tracks.

10:22 p.m. Female reported hearing gunshots in the Dodson dump area; Deputies responded to the call; all found to be quiet and no vehicles in the area.

August 21, 2016

12:25 a.m. Male reported a barking dog in a residential area; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be quiet in the surrounding area.

12:39 a.m. 911 received reporting a domestic situation at a local apartment; victim did not need an ambulance at this time; Deputies responded to the call; case file started.

12:53 a.m. Female reported being harassed by a male and a possibly stolen vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

1:22 a.m. Deputy transported one adult male, Shawn Wright, to PCSO to be incarcerated on Partner/Family Member Assault charges.

4:47 a.m. Deputy advised individuals to turn down the music that could be heard outside of a local residence.

6:14 a.m. 911 received reporting a one vehicle rollover on Hwy 191 north of Malta; caller refused medical attention; Deputy responded to the call; case file started; patient transported to the PC Hospital by personal vehicle.

9:15 a.m. Female reported a vehicle rollover north of Malta; caller advised had been reported and taken care of.

10:02 a.m. Undersheriff received a complaint about a road being torn up and possible damage to a maintainer in the Wagner area; County Road Crew employee also responded to the call; case file started.

12:58 p.m. Female reported a family member was being harassed; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

5:33 p.m. Female reported her parents were being harassed; Deputy handled the call.

7:26 p.m. 911 received reporting a combine fire, east of Malta; Deputy and local Fire Dept responded to the call; fire later controlled and extinguished.

7:58 p.m. Female reported individuals “drinking at Trafton Park”; Deputy responded to the call; individuals located and were not drinking.

11:11 p.m. 911 received reporting a possible assault situation at a local residence; Deputies responded to the call; situation taken care of without further incident, found to be a verbal dispute between family members.

August 22, 2016

7:37 a.m. Male reported he “wrecked his vehicle”, on Hwy 2, east of Malta; vehicle is off the Hwy and has minor damage; case file started.

8:30 a.m. Male reported “someone took his combine for a ride” over the week-end, south of Dodson; Deputy handled the call.

9:57 a.m. 911 received reporting a dog walking on Hwy 191 south.

11:22 a.m. Sheriff released one adult male, Shawn Wright, from PCSO Jail on own recognizance.

11:42 a.m. Male reported theft of property; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

Several calls received reporting lots of smoke north of Malta; all callers advised no reported fires and may be from the fires on the west side of the state.

2:57 p.m. Male reported an IRS phone scam.

2:45 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 10am to 9pm Tuesday.

3:02 p.m. Male called to report a fire west of Dodson but did not know the location; caller had not actually seen any flames was just concerned due to all the smoke in the area; caller advised smoke is possibly from the fires on the western side of Montana.

5:11 p.m. Male reported the Stine’s crossing had been blocked for an extended amount of time; information passed onto BNSF Police.

9:02 p.m. Local convenience store reported a stranded out of town female at their business; Deputy responded to the location; family of the female located and came to pick her up.

10:24 p.m. Female reported another female walking on Hwy 2, west of Malta; female later located by her family and picked up.

August 23, 2016

2:40 a.m. Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 10am Tuesday until 9pm Wednesday.

6:54 a.m. Several calls and 911s received reporting horses running loose on Hwy 2, near Ezzie’s and onto Old Hwy 2; owner later located and returned them to their pasture.

9:28 a.m. Local business reported someone “had gone through the vehicles” outside of the business; Undersheriff responded to the call; case file started.

10:19 a.m. Deputy performed a welfare check on a bicyclist on Hwy 2; all found to be okay, just taking a rest.

11:07 a.m. Undersheriff escorted one adult male, John Rosendahl, from District Court to PCSO Jail to serve time on sentencing.

11:17 a.m. Malta Fire Dept reported to the Zortman area for training.

5:15 p.m. Female reported a water worker lost some pipe on a residential street and kept going; information passed onto City employee.

6:55 p.m. Female reported being harassed by an ex-boyfriend; Deputy handled the call.

8:15 p.m. Male requested a Deputy at his residence for an unknown issue involving a spouse; Deputy and Reserve Deputy responded to the call; male advised this is a civil situation and he needed to contact the Justice of the Peace for assistance.

8:43 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9pm Wednesday.

11:50 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female at a Wagner residence; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

August 24, 2016

1:04 a.m. Blaine Co SO requested PCSO and Valley Co SO assistance with a stranded Deputy just across the Phillips/Valley Co line; VCSO Deputy responded to the location and picked up the prisoner being transported; local rotational wrecker responded to the call and brought the vehicle and BCSO Deputy to PCSO.

2:47 a.m. Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9pm tonight.

8:20 a.m. Undersheriff reported a temporary water line had come apart and water was spraying everywhere on a residential street; information passed onto City employee.

11:14 a.m. Female reported a motorhome driving with a tire down to the rim, westbound on Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle located and driver advised; drivers later came to Malta and got a replacement tire.

1:07 p.m. Undersheriff transported one adult male, John Rosendahl, from PCSO Jail to Valley Co Detention to serve time on sentencing.

1:24 p.m. Female filed a complaint regarding a vehicle driving erratically on Hwy 2, going into the ditch and back onto the Hwy several times; Deputy and local MHP Trooper responded to the call; vehicle not located.

1:27 p.m. 911 received requesting law enforcement assistance in Hays; call transferred to Ft Belknap LE.

2:53 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9pm.

3:05 p.m. Undersheriff transported one adult male, Tricton Nelson, from Valley Co Detention Center back to Malta for release on time served.

4:25 p.m. 911 received reporting traffic cones around newly painted Hwy lines had blown into the driving lane on Hwy 191 south; information passed onto MT Dept of Transportation employee.

6:05 p.m. Male reported a lost cell phone.

7:01 p.m. Female filed a verbal complaint about a vehicle that had been speeding down a residential alley; information passed onto Deputy.

8:46 p.m. Lake Wind Advisory is canceled.

August 25, 2016

1:38 a.m. Deputy performed security checks around the Malta area.

5:28 a.m. Female reported a male had passed away at a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; coroner case file started.

6:28 a.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a male who “was out of it” at a local residence; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

10:53 a.m. BNSF employee reported a semi truck and trailer just tore off a crossing arm at the Stine’s crossing; Deputy and local MHP Trooper responded to the call; case file started.

11:13 a.m. Local motel reported theft of property from a patron’s vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

11:59 a.m. Male reported he was “having trouble” with an individual’s dog; information passed onto ACO.

2:12 p.m. Male requested extra patrol around his residence during the night; information passed onto Deputies.

5:35 p.m. Male reported a “slow moving rollover accident” on the Dry Fork Road; no medical assistance needed; Deputy and local rotational towing company responded to the call; white form issued.

9:12 p.m. Female reported a stray cat near her residence; ACO handled the call.

10:47pm Deputy performed security checks around Malta.

August 26, 2016

2:16 a.m. Female reported a party; Deputies responded to the call; party shut down for the night.

6:58 a.m. An alarm company reported a commercial burglar alarm sounding at a local business; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay.

7:23 a.m. Female reported a dog running loose near Old Hwy 2.

9:14 a.m. Sheriff performed a motorist assist with a vehicle on Hwy 2, east of Malta; all found to be okay, just waiting for help to arrive.

10:16 a.m. Local convenience store reported a vehicle with occupants “begging people for money”; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle located and advised to move on.

3:39 p.m. Malta School employee requested PCSO assistance with a situation involving a juvenile; Deputy and Dept of Child & Family Services handled the call.

5:03 p.m. Male requested PCSO assistance with a harassment situation; Deputy handled the call.

5:57 p.m. Petroleum Co Dispatch received a report of a possible fire in the Fourchette area; information passed onto CMR Officer.

6:13 p.m. Female reported a fire in south Phillips Co, possibly on the CMR; information passed onto South Phillips Fire Dept and CMR Officer.

7:06 p.m. Female reported trespassing to her property; Deputy handled the call.

8:52 p.m. Male reported another male walking on Hwy 191 south, towards Malta; caller also advised of a broken down vehicle in the same area; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle and person not located.
