Boys and Girls Club School Year Hours

Malta Boys & Girls Club will begin new School Year Hours this Thursday, August. 18, from after school until 5:30 p.m. and will be open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to all youth ages 6-18. Malta Elementary students are welcome to ride Bus #1 to the Club after school. Please remember to turn in your completed membership forms.

Retired teachers lunch

8-17. Attention retired teachers and staff members! Time once again for our Back to School Lunch-NOT! No more grade books, recess duty, or report cards! Let's celebrate together with a no host lunch on Wednesday, August 17 at the GN Lodge room at noon. Now don't be tardy!

Advisory Council for Mental Health

8-17. Meeting of Local Advisory Council for Mental Health will be on Wednesday, August 17 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Westside Café. All invited.

Senior Meal with Construction Crew

8-18. on Thursday, August 18, Mike Grandy of Helena, Sand and Gravel will at-tend the Senior Meal at the GN at 10:30 a.m. to answer questions about the water project and construction in Malta.

MT Veteran Affairs

8-18 On Thursday, August 18, Judy or Steve, service officers for Montana Veteran Affairs, will be at Malta City Hall from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. If you would like to apply for benefits with the VA please come at the appointed time and bring a copy of your discharge/separation (DD214) papers with you. GPDM Campfire

8-19. The GPDM will have their 3rd Summer Campfire Lecture on Friday, August 19. Campfire & cookout at 6:30 p.m. and “Your Inner Fish” lecture at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Westside Self Service Customer Appreciation

8-20. The Westside Self Service, Food Court & Casino and the Kid Curry Casino are hosting a Customer Appreciation BBQ and music by Trial by Fire starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 20. They are also being recognized as a Malta Chamber Member with a Business After Hours event at the Westside Sports parking lot. Further details in this weeks ads/article. Everyone is Welcome.

Sacajawea #37/ Malta Lodge #57 BBQ

8-21. The first combined Open Installation/BBQ of OES Sacajawea #37 and Malta Lodge #57 will be held Sunday, August 21 at 3 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Malta. Installation of officers with a BBQ to follow. Please bring a lawn chair - BBQ outside on grounds weather permitting.

CMR NWR Meeting

8-25. The Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge (CMR NWR) Community Working Group will meet on August 25 in Fort Peck at the Fort Peck Interpretive Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join us as we finalize our work plan for the group in 2016 followed by updates on the Montana Sage Grouse Conservation Plan, the CMR NWR’s Conservation Menu, and potential research projects in the area. Lunch is available for a small fee. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input as the group seeks to influence the vitality and sustainability of the 6-county region surrounding the CMR NWR.
