One Nation, Under God

Proud of the PCN staff

Last week our editor was out of town, which can be a daunting task for anyone that has little to no experience being an editor of a small town newspaper.

A lot goes into making a weekly newspaper when you have only a few reporters that have to help with every aspect of a newspaper.

But I have to say I am really proud of our staff. Everyone stepped up, including Evie our intern who wrote her first column in this very space last week.

Sarah and Deb were very proactive and for that I am grateful.

Though I stink at certain details during communication, we ran like a well oiled machine and it seemed as though we didn’t miss a hitch.

We even hit our deadline to get the paper in head on.

Then Tuesday afternoon hit and due to circumstances out of anyone’s control the paper got here a little late.

By a little late, I mean two hours late.

Two hours late meant that we weren’t able to get every paper out Tuesday night.

The girls were great last Tuesday not only staying after regular work hours to get the papers ready for delivery.

I had no idea that they would stay and get the job done. I expected to be labeling the papers that night even after attending a three hour City Council Meeting. But the PCN ladies really surprised me by getting it done.

I lost a little sleep that night knowing that many readers wouldn’t be getting the papers at the time that has become so normal.

The events that have happened around our community have been more than tough. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by those events.

It is crucial that we support our code enforcement and know that all life is pre-cious.

I pray that this great country comes to an understanding and that the division that has been amongst us ends so we can set the tone for the rest of the world.
