Clifford E. Hack

Clifford E. Hack, 95, resident of Kennewick, Wash., passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home with his wife Donna and stepdaughter, Michele. Michele and Elena, and other caregivers, as well as Hospice made it possible for Cliff to remain at home until his passing as was his wish. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the Ritzville Cemetery where Irene, his first wife of 55 years, is buried.

Cliff was born on April 30, 1921 on a homestead outside Malta, Mont., where his folks farmed. He was the second oldest of nine children. He married Irene Margaret Olson on July 18, 1942. He would have loved to have been a farmer his whole life, but ended up in road construction and heavy duty mechanic until he retired in 1984.

In 1971, he and Irene moved from Montana to the Tri Cities where he worked for LW Vail until he retired. They began square dancing with the Prairie Shuffler's Square Dancers and did so until Irene passed in l997. As snowbirds, they spent their winters in their RV at Pahrump, Nev., and Hurricane, Utah. During the summer, they were at their daughter and son-in-law's where Cliff helped with the wheat harvest for 10 years. He was also a lifetime Eagle's member.

Cliff married Donna Jean Schneider in l998. They made their home in Kennewick. Traveling to Europe, Hawaii three times, as well as many square dance trips kept them busy. He was a jack of all trades and master of many. Many people are lucky enough to have one of his birdhouses that he got such joy building.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Donna and two siblings, Floyd and Doris from California; Dennis (Cyndie) Hack of Beardstown, Ill., Marcia (Bruce) Honn of Benge, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Michele Cowgill, Kennewick and Ann Marie Rouse, Richland. He had seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene, his parents, and six siblings. Mueller Funeral Home of Kennewick has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements, as well as Ritzville Cemetery for burial. Memorial gifts may be given to the Hospice of your choice.
