One Nation, Under God
Clifford Miller (Kipper), 91, a resident of Stevensville, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
He was born on July 20, 1924 in Malta to parents James George Miller and Mary Jurgensen. He was raised on a farm where he developed a life-long love of animals. He especially remembered his dog Tarzan. Cliff never met an animal he didn't like.
After attending school in Malta, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps as part of the "Greatest Generation." His years in the service of his country gave him many lifelong memories including travel across America and the Atlantic Ocean on the Queen Elizabeth. Cliff was an airplane mechanic at Woodbridge Air force Base near Ipswich, England.
After his service, Cliff returned to Montana and married the love of his life, Leah. While raising his family, Cliff went to work for Safeway Store in Lewistown and continued working for Safeway for 45 years. He finally retired in 1998 at age 75.
He is survived by wife of 70 years, Leah Margaret; son James Gary Miller of Missoula; daughter Debra Ann West of Leavenworth, Washington; son Kenneth Lee Miller (deceased); daughter Janet Marie Grantham of Lahaina, Hawaii; daughter Kathy Sue Miller of Stevensville and three granddaughters. Brother Harold Miller and sister Doris Ekedahl preceded Cliff in death.
Cliff lived a full and rich life with special visits to his daughter and granddaughters Leah Jane and Roxanne Lillian in Maui but never recovered from the homicide of his son Kenneth in 2009.
Cliff loved camping and fishing trips with his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and gentle teasing. There is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. We loved you every day and now we will miss you every day.
Condolences can be sent to Miller Family, 164 Pine Hollow, Stevensville, MT. 59870 or to [email protected].
