One Nation, Under God

Loring News for May 25, 2016

Congratulations to all the graduates in Phillips County! I attended the ceremony in Malta on Sunday afternoon and there was quite a crowd. A large Johannesen/Harms contingent was there for Austin Wiese and Bailey Graves.

Kellen James Slade was baptized on Sunday at the Loring Lutheran Church with Whitney and Jay Blunt as sponsors. Other than the parents, grandparents Bud and Beth Slade, Pete and Carol Lumsden, great grandparents, Ruth and John Flansaas, and Francis Slade, aunties Kak Slade, and Carmen Norville, and Uncle Mark Slade, with the cousins all enjoyed the special day! After the service lunch was served at the Lumsden Ranch.

Whitewater School is officially out for the summer! The WHS track team participated in the divisional meet on Thursday. Kayleigh Cummings has a divisional championship medal in the shot put! The entire boys team made it in their events, also. Trace Simonson made it in four events! Trey Simanton and Cody Scheffelmaer also made it in their events! The team leaves for state track meet in Missoula on Wednesday morning. Good luck, Penguins!

Brenda Clark was hostess for Loring Womans Club on Wednesday. The main business was the community picnic. Save the date for June 15 at 6 for a wonderful gathering in the Loring Park!

Connie Wasson and I both agree! Seeing the American Goldfinches return in the spring is very uplifting! Yea! For migration!

No church services at Loring Lutheran this coming Sunday or the first Sunday in June. Everyone be safe while traveling around!
