Malta High School seniors Tyson Carney and Marley Manoukian have been chosen as Valedictorians of the Graduating Class of 2016.
Carney earned a 4.041 GPA in his high school career and plans to attend the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, next fall to pursue a degree in Athletic Training while also playing football for the Marauders.
While at Malta High School, Carney participated in Key Club, FCCLA, Student Council, the National Honor Society, Youth Court, Academic Olympics and was a member of the basketball, football and track teams.
"After I get my under graduate degree, I hope to be accepted into the physical therapy school in Bismarck and get my Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy," Carney said.
Carney is the son of Malta's Darrell and Lori Carney.
Manoukian earned a 4.041 GPA in her high school career and plans to attend Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., next fall to pursue a degree in Animal Science: Livestock Production and Industry.
While at Malta High School, Manoukian participated in Key Club, Student Council, the National Honor Society, 4-H, the Catholic Heart Workcamp, Academic Olympics and was a Legislative Page. She was also a member of the cross county, basketball and track teams.
"After obtaining my degree, I hope to be accepted into veterinary school and pursue a career in that field," Manoukian said.
Manoukian is the daughter of Malta's Marko and Linda Manoukian.
