The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)

hereby gives notice of approval of the March 2016 Voluntary Cleanup Plan Addendum (VCP) for the Malta Airport in Malta, Montana. DEQ solicited public comment on this document for 30 days, March 30, 2016, through April 28, 2016. DEQ did not receive any comments during this time period. DEQ has concluded that the VCP meets the requirements specified in § 75-10-734, MCA, and, if implemented as approved, will attain a degree of cleanup and control of hazardous or deleterious substances that complies with the requirements of § 75-10-721, MCA. The VCP proposes excavation and off-site disposal of soil within the Facility that exceed site-specific cleanup levels (SSCLs) based on future commercial/industrial use within the area proposed for future commercial/industrial use. The City is also proposing the placement of restrictive covenants in these areas to prohibit future residential development. In the area currently used as residential property, the City proposed to clean up to SSCLs protective of residential use with no future property use restrictions. The VCP is available for review at the Phillips County Library in Malta, and the DEQ’s office located at 1225 Cedar Street in Helena. If you have questions, please contact Moriah Bucy, DEQ, Remediation Division, P.O. Box 200901, Helena, MT 59620 0901

TOWN OF DODSON

P.O. BOX 98, DODSON, MT 59524

Attention Landowners: As a property owner in the Town of Dodson,

you are responsible for mowing and maintaining that property. In the past,

the Town has had trouble ensuring that all property was properly maintained.

At a recent meeting, it was decided by the Council that instead of charging $40.00 per lot per month for mowing as we did previously, we would charge $40.00 per hour and if unpaid, it would be added either to your taxes or placed as a lien against your property. It was also decided that grass should be no longer than six inches in height. The cost of maintaining our mower, fuel and operator wages has become much higher and we can no longer afford to cut grass for absentee landowners.

There are several absentee landowners who never respond to our letters in the spring and beginning June 1st, through Aug. 31st, the above charges will be enforced.

We thank those who do respond and hopefully they will continue to work

with the Town to keep their property clean, mowed and weed free.

Please write to myself or Ceedee Wilke , the Town Clerk at the above address

or you may phone 406-383-4364 for me or 406-654-7480 for Ceedee.

We may also have a list of people who would do this for you by private pay.

Sincerely,

Terri Cole, Mayor

Ceedee Wilke, Clerk

Council Persons: Cathy Bear, Caleb Best, Polly Solberg, Robert Parker
