McMahon receives $7,000 P.E.O. Scholarship

Catherine McMahon, daughter of Kathy Bagley of Malta, has been awarded a $7,000 Montana State Chapter P.E.O. Sisterhood scholarship to attend Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., for the 2016-17 academic year.

Cottey College is a private, liberal arts, women’s college with two-year and selected four-year degree programs with a residential student enrollment of 350 women. Cottey is the only accredited college in the nation owned and supported by women.

Cottey College is one of six educational projects sponsored by the P.E.O. Sisterhood. The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded January 21, 1869, at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic and education organization interested in bringing women increased opportunities for higher education. There are approximately 6,000 local chapters in the United State and Canada with more than 250,000 active members.
