One Nation, Under God

Hold on to your hats, here I come

Well, the time is finally here! I have begun packing my things into boxes again, something that seems to happen often. I have been writing a column for Phillips County News for the better part of a year now. The experience I have been most excited for is on the doorstep. I start my summer internship next Wednesday. I cannot wait for this opportunity to learn a new skill, one I never would have imagined three years ago. Thanks again Mark and the rest of the staff for all you’ve done, you guys are awesome!

I’m looking forward to spending the summer back home with the family. I am also looking forward to time well-spent with the friends I haven’t seen since last fall. It is shaping up to be a great summer, and I have all sorts of plans I cannot wait to get started. Although, I think the first item on my agenda will be a nice lunch or dinner with my parents. I cannot be more grateful for all the help they have provided me this past year in Bozeman. I probably would have starved without all the Taco Bell money they sent.

My time in Bozeman has been amazing. I have met so many people I will be glad to call friends for a very long time. The experiences and memories I’ve created with all of my Bozeman friends will be cherished forever and never forgotten. All of the hiking, camping, and shenanigans we got into will have me counting down the minutes until I move back. You can bet that the first thing I do at the end of this summer is float the Madison River, followed by a barbecue at the campgrounds.

I spent my last weekend in Missoula with my best friend Benji. There couldn’t have been a better way to spend it. We attended a Waka Flocka Flame concert at the Wilma Theatre in Missoula Sunday. That night was full of surprises. I ran into Chris Doney as soon as I got into the show, which was completely coincidental, but awesome! We enjoyed the long list of alcoholic beverages the Wilma had to offer, and the concert was great. I was able to hang out with Waka for about an hour after the show and he shared something that will stick with me for a while. (In regards to Hip-hop) “It should be about the fun and enjoyment, but in reality it’s all about making money.” I look forward to putting that advice to good work. Have a great week Phillips County. See you soon!
