Malta Station's Patrol Agent in Charge transferring to Havre

Havre Sector Border Patrol Headquarters will be the new home base for Patrol Agent in Charge (PAIC) Michael Rappold. After nearly eight years of serving the Malta Border Patrol Station as the PAIC, Agent Rappold will now undertake a new challenge as an Operations Officer at the Havre Sector Headquarters in Havre, Montana starting April 18.

Malta Station was a substation of the Havre Border Patrol Station until June 2008, when Agent Rappold was hired on as the first PAIC for the Malta Station. The station dedication ceremonies were held on October 9, 2008 marking the beginning of a new era in Malta. As the station grew in size over the years to come, so did the community involvement for the station. Agent Rappold made community engagement his top priority during his time as leader at the Malta Station.

Agent Rappold also dedicated much of his off-duty time to volunteer organizations in the community such as the Mustang Foundation, the Malta Rotary Club, the Phillips County Economic Growth Council (PhillCo), Boy Scouts of America as a Merit Badge Counselor, and the Malta High School as an Assistant Volleyball Coach. Both of his boys are graduates from Malta High School and are now active with the United States Air Force.

"It is time for me to find a new challenge in my career and I am fortunate to have that opportunity present itself at Havre Sector. This city, county and surrounding communities have been very supportive of the U.S. Border Patrol, myself and my family for many years. Thank you, everyone for your support" stated Mike. "The Malta Station is successful in our border security mission because of the involvement and engagement of the communities in which we serve. Remember, if you see something suspicious or have other information to report, please call us at 888-700-5671 and continue to be our partners in supporting the U.S. Border Patrol mission."

A celebration will be held on April 16 at the Marion Hills Golf Course/Tin Cup between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
