March 17 through March 24

March 17, 2016

9:58 a.m. Deputy released one adult male from PCSO Jail on time served.

10:20 a.m. Female reported stolen property; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

10:29 a.m. Dropped 911 received from an individual in Saco; Deputy responded to the call; caller found to be okay.

5:32 p.m. Female reported a situation involving a juvenile at her residence; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

5:39 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with a harassment situation; Deputy handled the call.

March 18, 2016

8:12 a.m. Female reported a dead dog on a trail on the north side of Malta; ACO handled the call.

1:08 p.m. Local business reported vehicles blocking the parking and access to the business; Deputy responded to the call; owners located and vehicles moved.

6:21 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pickup from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

8:12 p.m. 911s received reporting a fire south of Malta off of Short Oil Road; Deputies and local Fire Dept responded to the call; found to be an unreported controlled burn.

On July 11, 2015 a Smith and Wesson revolver was turned in to the Sheriff’s Office. It was found lying on a road near Malta. It appears the gun bounced down the road and sustained some damage but it still appears to be functional. If you have lost a revolver or know of someone missing one, please contact Deputy Jerry Lytle at the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office to claim it.

The revolver was in a brown leather holster when it was found. You will need to describe the caliber of the revolver, location it was found, and other distinguishing characteristics in order to claim the revolver. If not claimed, it will be considered abandoned and will be sold at a Sheriff’s sale at a later date.

March 19, 2016

10:55 p.m. Deputy received a found high powered tool from a male; tool can be identified at the PCSO Dispatch Office if you are missing a high powered tool.

March 20, 2016

2:10 a.m. Deputies responded to a local residence where a house party was occurring; Sheriff also responded to the location; case file started.

4:11 a.m. Deputies transported 4 adult males to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on Obstruction of a Peace Officer, MIP; Unlawful Transaction with a Child, Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Evidence-Felony; Obstruction of a Peace Officer, and MIP charges; 7 other individuals were cited as well.

4:11 a.m. Sheriff transported one adult female to PCSO to be incarcerated in PCSO Jail on Obstruction of a Peace Officer, MIP and Public Nuisance charges.

6:56 a.m. Deputy released one adult male from PCSO Jail on bond.

1:10 p.m. Female reported a vehicle slid into the ditch near Edgewater Inn; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

3:45 p.m. Deputy released one adult female, Serena Stine, from PCSO Jail on bond.

9:19 p.m. 911 received reporting a mattress in the middle of Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; mattress not located.

10:10 p.m. Deputy transported one adult female to PCSO to be incarcerated on Probation Violation charges.

12:41 a.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with a disturbance behind a local tavern; Deputies responded to the call; situation taken care of with-out further incident; both involved parties did not want anything done.

2:52 a.m. 911 received reporting a disturbance at a local motel room; Deputies responded to the location; situation taken care of without further incident.

2:41 p.m. Female reported seeing smoke between Malta and Dodson; Undersheriff responded to the call; fire found to be an unreported controlled burn.

If you are planning on having a controlled burn, please call PCSO BEFORE you start and advise the dispatcher of ALL articles being burned, especially if it is a structure, abandoned or not. If you do not call and the Fire Dept responds you may be sent a bill. Thank you.

6:58 p.m. MHP Dispatch reported a traffic complaint, east bound, on Hwy 2; vehicle was swerving all over the road; Undersheriff responded to the call; vehicle not located.

7:02 p.m. Male filed a written traffic complaint regarding a vehicle speeding in a residential area; Deputies responded to the call; vehicle located and driver advised.

March 21, 2016

7:16 a.m. Undersheriff released one adult female from PCSO Jail on time served.

7:29 a.m. Male reported tree branches on Hwy 191 north, all the way to White-water; information passed onto MT Dept of Transportation employee.

2:00 p.m. Undersheriff incarcerated one adult female into PCSO Jail to serve time on sentencing.

6:11 p.m. Deputy received a report of a missing dog in Saco.

7:25 p.m. Deputy performed security checks in the Saco area.

11:08 p.m. Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

11:44 p.m. Deputy performed security checks in the Dodson area.

March 22, 2016

8:13 a.m. Undersheriff reported dogs running into traffic near the Malta Grade School; information passed onto ACO.

8:13 a.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with a vehicle blocking his driveway; caller found to be in Great Falls, not in Malta; caller given Great Falls PD phone number.

8:51 a.m. Male requested a welfare check on a juvenile family member; Undersheriff responded to the call; juvenile located and was okay.

12:39 p.m. 911 received reporting seeing flames on the golf course; caller advised was a reported and controlled burn.

1:22 p.m. Female reported a possible phone scam.

We have been receiving calls reporting telephone calls with people asking for personal information, bank account information and needing to send money to relatives. These phone calls are scams, if it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be. The IRS does not contact people via telephone.

Always remember the key things regarding scams:

1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win

2. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

2:04 p.m. Male reported a suspicious vehicle near the Old Milk River Bridge; Deputy responded to the call; all found to be okay, male was surveying the area.

2:48 p.m. Deputy released one adult male, Kyler Isakson, from PCSO Jail on bond.

5:43 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pickup from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

7:51 p.m. Local business reported a fuel drive off; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle not located.

10:44 p.m. Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

March 23, 2016

1:45 p.m. Sheriff released one adult female from PCSO Jail on time served.

2:02 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a ground transport to Havre; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

2:57 p.m. Undersheriff transported one adult male and one adult female from PCSO Jail to Valley Co Detention Center to serve time on sentencing.

3:04 p.m. Sheriff released one adult male from PCSO Jail on own recognizance.

4:20 p.m. Undersheriff transported two adult males from Valley Co Detention Center back to PCSO to be released on time served.

11:00 p.m. Deputy closed a door on a building that had been left open after business hours.

March 24, 2016

2:11 a.m. Deputy reported a possibly abandoned vehicle near the Wagner turnoff on Hwy 191 south; vehicle found to have 3 occupants; registered owner of the vehicle advised to have it towed; occupants given a ride to a local convenience store; vehicle later removed from the area later in the day.

7:49 a.m. MT Dept of Transportation employee reported a vehicle on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; owner later located and advised to remove the vehicle.

7:58 a.m. Male reported an abandoned vehicle near the Wagner turnoff on Hwy 191 south; caller advised had been reported already.

3:50 p.m. Male reported a vehicle/deer accident that had occurred earlier in the morning; Deputy responded to the call; white form issued.

10:18 p.m. Deputy performed security checks in the Malta area.

11:48 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with removing a male from her residence; Deputies responded to the call; case file started.
