County Attorney attends Case parole hearing

On March 31, 2016, Ed Amestoy, Phillips County Attorney, attended the Montana Parole Board Hearing to provide testimony in opposition to the Parole of Criss Case. Case was convicted of deliberate homicide, aggravated kidnapping, and robbery in the November 1978 robbery and triple homicide which occurred at the Loring Bar.

The parole board denied the parole request noting that Case was complicit in the execution of three people and parole at this time would act to diminish the seriousness of the offense.

At the hearing, testimony revealed that Case, who is 62, would not discharge his sentence from the State Prison until 2069, if not earlier paroled. The Parole Board placed Case on annual review and will allow him to appear again for parole consideration in five years.

The Phillips County Attorney's Office is committed to continuing to object to such parole and wish to acknowledge our appreciation for the community's support in objecting to the parole of Criss Case.
