Norma was born in Malta on March 29, 1945 to Hugh Taylor and Lillian Gloria (LaFond). She graduated from Malta High School in 1963. She married Terrance E. Wilson on November 27, 1963 and lived in Brookings, South Dakota. They lived there while he was attending college. During the school year she worked in the soils lab in the Agriculture Department. She spent her summers working in Malta at the Sweet Shop. After college, a move was made to Baker, Oregon and two daughters were born. In 1969, the family moved back to Malta where another daughter was added to the family. She was a busy homemaker while the girls were young. As the girls got older, she started working at the church as the secretary. In 1977 the family moved to Glasgow, Montana where Norma worked in an optometrist office. In 1981 the family moved to Miles City. During this time she worked at the Farmers Union Insurance and eventually became the agent. After several years of being the agent, reorganization brought another change. She then became the Lutheran Brotherhood agent for the area. In 1996 they retired and moved back to Malta.

She became an avid quilter with the Lutheran quilting group and many people benefitted from her sewing skills. She loved laughing and playing cards with her friends and family. She loved cooking delicious food for family, friends and the church. What she enjoyed the most though, was following all of her grandchildren's many and varied activities. Every morning you could see her and Terry out for a walk around town.

In 2009 she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer which progressed to needing 24 hour care for three years until her passing. Terry's love and devotion for Norma never wavered. He visited her faithfully and continued to keep a daily routine, including their walk. Norma's smile, which could light up a room, will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her father Hugh Taylor. Norma is survived by her husband of 52 years Terrance Wilson; children Michelle (Larry) Smith of Malta, Vicki Wilson (Mark Richardson) of Billings, MT, and Bridgit (Reed) Gerth of Billings, MT; mother Gloria Taylor of Malta, MT; brothers Richard (Ruth)Taylor of Libby, MT, George (Patricia)Taylor of Helena, MT, Roy (Marilyn) Taylor of Malta, MT, and Albert (Karen) Taylor Yuma, AZ; 8 grandchildren Caitlin (Tanner) Anderson, Ryan Smith, Rebecca Smith, Logan & Garrett Leidholt, Hunter, Colton & Livia Gerth; 4 great grandchildren; Tova, Tant, Tryan & Taos Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
