One Nation, Under God

Play Ball Like a limp noodle

I’m not going to name any names but a couple of months ago a gentleman came into our office in sup-port of his friend that is running for a political office.

He seems like a cool dood, even a guy that I would hang out with in college but the poor guy had one huge flaw.

He reached out to shake my hand after our conversation and to my dismay came the limpest hand-shake I have ever experienced.

I know that the point of a handshake isn’t to break someone’s hand but it does say a lot about your confidence as a person.

I was expecting the shake of a strong, driven alpha type person but instead I received a shake that was like a fist-full of wet spaghetti noodles.

If that gentleman has an issue where he can’t deliver a firm handshake, I apologize. But I’m just saying shake like you mean it. I do believe that a handshake can definitely cost a person a vote.

I know that I never wanted to be that guy with a terrible handshake, but sometimes life throws you a curveball.

Two months after I judged that young man for having a terrible handshake, I too got owned by the shake of another.

There young lady works at a local store in town and after I met her, I went in for a handshake only to underestimate her because of her smaller stature. I had no squeeze and she had the squeeze of a boa constrictor trying to squeeze the life out of a mouse.

Like the aforementioned man than apologized for his shake, I too apologized for my lack-luster shake.

I never saw it coming. I still to this day wonder what that young lady thought of me after my soft shake.

What can of legacy am I leaving for my son? Will there be ramblings about how weak I am as a person?

A shake says a lot about a person…. Or so I think, but maybe I’m just rambling.

I want to wish our M-ettes good luck at state this weekend. I’m proud of all of our students but these ladies have really been awesome to see in action.

P.S. If you guys see me faint on the court in Butte, don’t be surprised… I’ve come close before. The suspense is intense.
