One Nation, Under God

Loring News for March 9, 2016

I do declare! I have never had so many insects on my windshield in March before! It sounded like a rainstorm except the sky was clear!

I felt the need to have a soak and swim on Saturday so I drove out to the Sleeping Buffalo! I know that many other people had the same thought as I did; the pool was teeming with swimmers!

When I returned to Malta, I was just in time for volunteering at Bountiful Basket! That program is very worthwhile!

Judy and Danny Simonson took in the state Class C Basketball Tourney in Great Falls this weekend. Keira drove over from Missoula and joined them at Chad and Leslie Simonson's! Keira must have a lighter load this semester! Yea, for the College Kid!

Brenda Kornfeld and Bill Murdock had visitors this Sunday. Ree Simonson, Margie Olsen, Lexie Haynes, Jim Murdock, and Nancy Olsen were out for a Sunday cruise up Fanny Hill and then down the Murdock hill! It is beautiful when dry, but we could use some more snow or rain!

The Whitewater Penguins went skiing on Friday! It was warm out, but everyone had fun anyway! Mylee Clark said that she had been skiing on the bunny hill and beat a 12 year old boy! I'm happy everyone had fun!

Congrats to the Malta M-ettes on their Divisional Class B Championship! We at Loring are proud to have so many top athletes in Phillips County! DeeDee Johannesen plays on the team! Twilla Johannesen attended the tourney with her bag of Skittles in memory of Kameron Martin!

Next Sunday, Orvin Solberg will be delivering the message at the Loring Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Then the next Sunday is Palm Sunday, and the fourth Sunday is Easter Sunday. We will have a pot luck brunch or breakfast at 8- 9:30 a.m. on Easter!

I'm patiently waiting for the sound of the meadowlark. Usually I hear them March 20-30 for the first time in the spring!
