With the District 3-C Tournament a little more than two weeks away, the Dodson Coyotes have shown some growth this season that has translated to their first win in over two seasons. The team came close to grabbing another win last Friday against Nashua, but ultimately lost 43-40. They also lost to the Malta JV squad last Tuesday in Malta.
Last Tuesday, the Dodson Coyotes lost a game to the Malta Mustang C-Squad. The score was 60-37.
Dodson was led by David Jaynes who scored seven points. Gavin Fox scored six points. Cain Wing and Cleo Cole both scored five points each. Shaun Bell, Jasper Doney and Stephen Ereaux each scored four points. Tyrese Messerly scored two points.
Malta's Rhett Simanton led all scorers with 18 points. Simanton knocked down six treys.
Tel Jensen had 14 points. Taylor Matthews had nine points. Kendall Koss had eight points. Landon VanWichen had four points. Kevin Henry, Konner Kuehn and Peyton Clausen each scored two points. Jacob Czereda had one point.
In the team's loss to Nashua, the Coyotes were led by Messerly who had 21 points. Cole had seven points. Shaun Ball had five points. Lane Walling had three points and David Jaynes had two points.
The team is set to take on Hays-Lodgepole in Dodson tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
