One Nation, Under God

Tallow Creek News for the week of December 30, 2015

(Zora, age 9)

12-6. "Science" We did a heartbeat experiment. We listened to our "Mammal" song. We said that a fish and bird were vertebrates. An inchworm is an invertebrate. Ants use their babies like a tube of glue. Earthworms don't like light. Snails are all foot. Girl tarantulas eat their husbands. I would NOT like to be a boy tarantula! A Sea Horse is a vertebrate. I never knew a Sea Horse was a vertebrate. Dolphins are mammals and are vertebrates. A squid is a HUGE invertebrate. A plesiosaur is like a snake. Clams are invertebrates. We had amanitas floating around here. A lot of animals are under the sea. We will make a book called, "Ocean Animals Without Backbones". I like Science.

12-9. We are homeschooled. The girls are talking about Bluey the Snowman. I am the only boy in the class. You don't know how hard these articles are.

The students volunteered, and were accepted, to also take their program to the Malta Rest Home, Monday, Dec. 21, at 10:30.

12-30. Making a Scene: We drew a scene. It had clouds, a sky, water, sand, plants, and two big rocks. Then, we glued on hermit crabs, crabs, sea stars, sea anemones, sea urchins, limpets, periwinkles, and chitins. It was fun.
