Doris Grabofsky

MALTA-Doris Grabofsky, 82, of Malta died Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Northern Montana Care Center in Havre, surrounded by her family.

The family received visitors Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 7 p.m. and funeral services were Friday, December 18 at 2 p.m. at the Kirkwood Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Malta Cemetery. Doris was born March 10, 1933, one of five daughters of Daniel and Grace Doney. She attended school in Malta, and after graduating in 1952 attended college in Havre and Great Falls. She married Edwin Grabofsky June 10, 1955. They settled in Malta and had five children. She worked as a bookkeeper and tax preparer, was active in the Malta Lutheran Church, and enjoyed reading, crafts, playing cards, and especially being with people.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters. She is survived by her five children, Dan Grabofsky and Cathryn (Douglas) Nissen of Piedmont SD, Grace (Jody Nordgulen) Grabofsky of Kansas City, MO, Becky (Greg) Gill of Owings Mills, MD, and Joe (Cathy) Grabofsky of Lewistown, MT; six grandchildren, Andrew (Caitlin) Nissen, Jacob (Isabel) Nissen, Daniel (Cheyenne) Nissen, Joshua Grabofsky, Jayce Grabofsky, and Jennifer Nordgulen; and four great-grandchildren.

Doris was a resident of Northern Montana Care Center in Havre for the past five years. We wish to express our gratitude for the excellent and loving care she received there.
