Phillips County Farm Bureau receives awards at annual convention

Phillips County Farm Bureau received several awards during the Montana Farm Bureau Annual Convention Nov. 8-11 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula. The county Farm Bureau, newly formed in January 2015, immediately became active and currently has 69 members.

The county received an award for making quota (membership goal) and received a Golden Windmill Award for Public Policy, Membership Development & Education and Public Relations. They also received an Excellence in Achievement Award for Public Policy. The Phillips County Farm Bureau presented several proposed policies, which were passed by the State delegation and are now State Policies. Phillips County's policies will also be presented to the American Farm Bureau Federation at the national Convention in Orlando, FL next month.

The Phillips County Farm Bureau also proposed several changes in wording to the Montana Farm Bureau's by-laws, which were passed by the State wide membership delegation.

The Montana Farm Bureau Convention brings together farmers and ranchers from across the state to attend educational workshops, recognize county Farm Bureau efforts and vote on policy for the coming year.
