One Nation, Under God

Tallow Creek News for the week of December 2, 2015

11-14. We learned that not all insects fly. In one of our books we found two vertebrates (duck and frog) and one invertebrate (dragonfly). We talked about earthworms and spiders. Linden and I have a big spider in our porch. None of our earthworms wanted to come out. We looked for bugs. Andi found a wasp. Linden found a fly. We wrote what was the same about our bugs, and what was different. Andi found the wasp in the garbage can, so apparently wasps like garbage. The fly tried to escape. I think vertebrae are shaped like some kind of airplanes. We worked on a booklet called "Animals without Backbones (Invertebrates)". The body parts on an ant are: the head, antennae, thorax, abdomen, eyes, and legs. Today's Invertebrates Class was the most interesting.

11-25. We did our printing experiment. We got done when it started blizzarding. The classroom skeleton, Mister Bones, likes to do acrobatics. Do not mess them up. He is a plastic skeleton of a human. I learned how to print with turpentine.

12-2. During play period, we rehearsed dressing. During recess, we played super ninja warrior. It was very fun! I learned how to fly. But I had to quit. But it was fun while it lasted. In science, I learned that the "on its side 8" means infinity. You make it like this [infinity symbol] because it never ends. Then it was Czech period.
