One Nation, Under God
The sayings are everywhere... "you know you're a redneck if...," "you know you're from Montana if...", and of course there is "you know you're from a small town if...".
Proof is always in the pudding and walking off the streets in Malta you see "small town" everywhere.
Be it from the friendly gestures and waves, from the courtesy extended to others or the down-home touch, these make one glad they live in a "small town".
A good example of this occurred on Central Avenue when local rancher and musically talented Will Crasco stopped in at the finest barber shop in the county – Jerry's Barber Pole, owned by, Jerry Salveson. -- and entertained patrons waiting to get their hair cut.
Will stopped by with guitar in-hand and spent a little relaxing time playing and singing songs -- old songs to gospel genre. Will is a retired rancher who is now residing between Hays and Billings with his wife, Thelma, so they can be closer to medical providers.
The pace of the big city is enough for Will to want to head "home" for his haircuts and his Mayberry style time with Jerry.
A peaceful and serene sound fills the shop as his voice filled the hearts and tugged at old memories as he reflected on the past. Let Jerry know if you want to know when Will stops by for his next visit... right there on Central Ave... in our small town.
