One Nation, Under God
I met a kid from Sweden and I acquired the knowledge that hedgehogs run wild in his hometown. It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of my plans to move overseas and live with the hedgehogs. Gatsby and I are a fierce duo, it’s common knowledge that our favorite things include drinking beer, meeting women, and spending cold evenings watching reruns of Parks and Recreation. Could you imagine the type of guy I’d be if I could go hoard hedgehogs in Sweden? On second thought, I think I’ll stay in Bozeman, for the sake of my sanity.
With all this snowfall the streets of Bozeman are filled with Subaru’s loaded ski-racks, full of college kids going to enjoy the mountain. I’m going to be one of those college kids headed to the mountain every chance they get… as soon as I get a job that pays, and can afford that season pass. Thank God for college discounts. It really is ridiculous how much it costs to get an education in America. I understand that money doesn’t just grow on trees (even though it kind of does), but why start a young adult’s life with an average of over 25k debt? It sure does make for an uphill battle.
I’ve recently been inducted to one of many cliques to exist at MSU, I think I found the best one though. If anybody reading this has Instagram, feel free to take a peek at the life of my lucky hedgehog, Gatsby. Gatsbygetsgirls is an Instagram account I made dedicated to the college life of my pet. I will be the first to admit, without Gatsby I would not have met a single girl at MSU. Maybe that is an exaggeration, but I really feel like it isn’t. Thank God for Gatsby. What a beautiful tool to relationships you have been.
I’m going to get a little bit serious here at the end, you know, to make you think about some things. We all know how horrible the terrorist events in Paris are… what happens when it is in the U.S.? A line has been drawn by many nations, and a general consensus is starting to take shape. Erase ISIS, Boko Haram, and al-Qaeda from the face of the Earth. Why? Because they fight behind women and children, fight with guerilla warfare, and claim they are doing the world a service. I don’t know about you, but I can think of something that could send a message that this isn’t going to be tolerated. However, our Commander-In-Chief would never agree with me. France promised a ‘merciless’ retaliation to ISIS, and have already began bombing facilities in Syria. The world is changing people, but don’t worry, it’s always been this way.
Wishing you all the best,
Brandon
