M-ettes advance to Divisionals in Glasgow; To open against Fairfield

For the fourth time in as many years, the Malta M-ettes have made it to the Northern B Divisional Tournament. This year the team will enter the tournament as 2B's second seed after posting a 2-2 record at the 2B tourney in Glasgow last weekend. It was an outing that the M-ettes defeated Wolf Point twice and lost to Glasgow twice. The M-ettes will travel back to Glasgow this weekend for the Northern B, a territory that the M-ettes are familiar with.

"We're playing some of our best volleyball right now, which is really exciting to see," M-ette Head Coach Julia Tatafu told the PCN.

The M-ettes open the Northern B Tourney against Fairfield a team that they lost the opening round of the 2014 tourney to. Coach Tatafu is confident that her team can win.

"I know they run a 5-1 and I know they've got one big hitter and we have a tall team so if we get her blocked a couple of times, then we should cool her off," Coach Tatafu said.

Fairfield boasts a solid team that featured a tall front line that includes Natalie Klinker, Taleigh Isakson and Allie Steinbach. The Eagles also have a new coach this season, which may benefit Malta.

"We actually match up really well," Coach Tatafu said. "I think whoever plays the most consistently this game will win it."

The winner of the Malta and Fairfield game will likely face 1B's Choteau on Thursday evening.
