HELENA- Hulda Victoria Grant (Hinther) 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Renaissance Senior Care Center in Helena, Mont.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. , Tuesday, November 3, at the Malta Lutheran Church. Interment were in the Malta Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left atwww.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Hulda was born in Jordan, Mont., on March 27, 1925 the daughter of John Henry and Maria (Koch) Hinther. She attended school in Jordan and married Dixon Grant on December 19, 1942 in Miles City, Mont. They had one son, Dennis Norval Grant, on May 13, 1944. Hulda worked as the chief cook on the Veseth Ranch south of Malta for many years until moving into town. Hulda then worked for Kamala's Jewelry store.

Hulda was known for her fabulous meals that she prepared with love for her family and friends. She was an avid gardener who shared this passion with others through her involvement with the Malta Dirt Daubers. Hulda showed her creativity through her sewing, knitting, and handmade crafts that will be cherished by those who have received them throughout the years. Hulda enjoyed entertaining and socializing taking pleasure in card playing and square dancing. She loved the outdoors often hiking and picking June berries in Zortman, Mont. Her door was always open to those who came; often providing care for sick children and always treats for her visitors. Hulda was an active member of the Malta Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary, and the Rebekah Lodge.

Hulda is preceded in death by her husband Dixon, her son Dennis, her parents, an infant brother Alexander, 6 brothers; Emanuel, Fred, August, Bill, Karl, and a sister Rosie.

She is survived by her sisters Gertie Hinther of Glasgow and Leonora Brumbelow of Jacksonville, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
