Mary Sue Knudson Sudduth was born April 20th, 1947 in Glasgow, Mont., to Kenneth and Jane Knudson. Raised on a farm NW of Saco, she graduated from Saco High School in 1965. She attended Billings Business College which prepared her for her work as a legal secretary as well as a medical secretary. On June 18th, 1967 she married Richard Alonzo Sudduth, Jr. in Saco, Mont. Their son, Richard Kenneth Sudduth (Richie), was born June 25th, 1971. Mary Sue was a lifelong member of the Saco Methodist Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for many years and organist/pianist up to the time of her death. She would offer her services as a church pianist whenever needed, filling in at the Hinsdale Methodist Church and the Glasgow Methodist Church. When Richie was young, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
Mary Sue was a lifetime member of the Rebekah Lodge in which she held offices at the local lodge as well as at the state level. She served as the State President for the Montana Rebekah Assembly. She served her community in a multitude of ways, whenever there was a need for volunteers. Mary Sue was always supportive of the activities of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as being a support for family members when needed.
Mary Sue is survived by her mother, Jane Knudson of Glasgow, son, Richard Kenneth Sudduth of Saco, two sisters, Connie (Jim) Schultz, Fort Peck, Mont., and Laurinda (Oscar) Knudson, Billings, Mont., three grandchildren; Anthony Sudduth of Hinsdale, Matthew Sudduth of Glasgow, and Kayla Sudduth of Saco, Mont.; three sisters-in-law, Marcia (Ray) Covert of San Jose, Calif., Laura "Lolly" (Ed) Carr-Schade of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Candy (Tom) Dooper, Lusk, Wyo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Sue is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Knudson, her brother, Kenneth Max Knudson, her father-in-law, Richard Alonzo Sudduth, Sr. and her mother-in-law, Marion Lucille Sudduth. Mary Sue and Rich left this life as they lived, together on September 29, 2015 in a tragic car accident.
The Sudduth's family received friends on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, Montana. Rich and Mary Sue's services were held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Saco Gymnasium in Saco, Montana. Burial followed at Saco Cemetery.
