One Nation, Under God
Margureite Hermoine Hervol Hader, age 87, passed away on September 14, 2015. She was born October 12, 1926 to Michael and Francis Hervol the 12th of 13 children on their homestead 7 miles north of Dodson, Mont. Marge was the last surviving member of this large family.
As a young girl, she lived on the homestead "out north" of and attended school in Dodson. She lived winters in a boarding house in town in order to go to school. Some of her fondest memories were of her life on the farm north of Dodson.
Marge met her future husband Jack Hader at a dance in the summer of 1948 and they were married on January 15, 1949 in Dodson, Mont. They moved to Columbia Falls in 1956 when Jack got a job working on the Hungry Horse Dam. Ten children were born into the marriage.
Marge worked her whole life. She was a waitress in several places in the Flathead. She worked at Anthony's Clothing Store and the Gambles store on Main Street in Columbia Falls. Later she worked in the kitchen at the Montana Veterans Home for several years and she finished her work career with the Council on Aging in Kalispell.
She was an avid sports fan and spent many hours on bleachers watching her kids and grandkids play a variety of sports. As a lifelong New York Yankees fan, she especially loved watching her sons and grandsons play baseball.
Marge was preceded by her parents, five brothers and seven sisters, her husband, Jack in 1995, her son Larry in 1989, and daughter Kathy in 2008.
She is survived by her children: John and his wife Kip, Lance and his wife Sharon, daughter in law Jamie, daughters Debbie, Tama and her husband Mark, Chris and his wife Debbie, Mark, Brad and his wife Chrystal, and BJ and his wife Crystal. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren with two more due this fall and by many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the people at Brendan House who loved and cared for her, you know who you are. Thank you.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 19, at St. Richards's Catholic Church; burial took place at St. Richard's Catholic cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Columbia Falls Baseball association or Wildcat Endowment.
