The Phillips County Farm Bureau (PCFB) held it’s first Annual meeting last week and bureau President, Tom DePuydt, told a story of a young man named Joe Lindquist.
Lindquist homesteaded in the Content Community located in the southern part of the county. He told of the struggles and hardships of Joe and other homesteaders of the time. They had the freedom and opportunity to take a risk without any guaranteed security. It was a time when most were sustained by basic moral and religious concepts.
