Luane Stadstad, 90, Grand Forks, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Luane Lefdahl , the daughter of Ole and Ella (Peterson) Lefdahl was born June 21, 1925 at Malta, Montana. She was raised and educated at Malta, graduating from Malta High School in 1943. She attended Concordia College and graduated in 1945 with a degree in Music. Luane married Howard Hoverson on May 26, 1945 at Moorhead, Minn., They lived and farmed at rural Manvel, N.D. Luane continued to use her skills in music by teaching voice and piano to many area students, and singing for numerous weddings and funerals. She was active in Manvel Women's Club and Middle Grove Lutheran Church where she was the organist for many years. Luane enjoyed the outdoors and mowing her lawn. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain her family at holiday times.
Luane married George Stadstad on October 16, 2005 in Grand Forks. He survives along with daughters, Linda (Keith) Storstad, Manvel, N.D., and Donna (Roger) Praus, Bismarck, ND; a sister, Marcella Evenson, Orange, Calif .; stepchildren, Terry (Muriel) Stadstad, Manvel, N.D., David (Gwen) Stadstad, Montgomery, Minn., and Dale (Linda) Stadstad, Prior Lake, Minn .; 4 step grandchildren, and 6 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard, and a sister, Norma Bentzin.
Funeral Services were on Friday, September 11, 2015 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Manvel, N.D.
Visitation: was from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks and one hour prior to the service in church.
