School Report

Malta Elementary School Principal Tad Schye informed the trustees that the enrollment at the school currently stands at 230, but added that the number will likely rise when school starts.

Principal Schye said that fifth and sixth grade volleyball practice starts on Monday, September 24.

During the new business portion of Wednesday night’s meeting, Malta Schools Superintendent Kris Kuehn requested an update to the middle and high school security camera system, namely a new DVR system. The cost to upgrade the system is $6,316.80 and the money would come out of the technology fund. The trustees unanimously approved the request.

During Kuehn’s Superintendent Report, he thanked the maintenance crew for their continued hard work and complemented the job they have done over the summer.

“I think our maintenance crew deserves a pat on the back for the job they did this summer,” Kuehn said. “Things have gotten a little wild for all of them…we are in good shape and we are very happy.”

The next Malta School Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9 at 7 p.m. in the teacher’s workroom.
