Whitewater Rural News for week of August 12, 2015

7-29. Macey Cox, who graduated from college in Havre, has accepted a job at a Billings bank.

Margie Olsen and her great-granddaughter, Tatum, were in Havre on Tuesday visiting with Beverly Olsen Haugen.

Hector Murdock passed his drivers test last Friday in Glasgow. Hector is helping out his Uncle Jimmy Murdock and grandfather, Jim Murdock, for the summer.

The families of Stormy Johannesen visited with the Hammond and Olsen families on Friday. Visiting family included sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bob McVay from North Carolina, and a brother Mr and Mrs. Ryan Johannesen and family from Louisiana came to the North Forty in Whitewater. Stormy worked many summers for his cousin, Swede Olsen.

Pat Murdock was pleasantly surprised on her birthday Friday when Walter, Billie Sky, Ty, Blake and Whit Ozark, Lexie Haynes of Saco, Kate and Gordon Webb, Hector Murdock, Jayce and Jaidyn Murdock of Malta, Margie Olsen, Ree Simonson and Pat Anderson of Whitewater enjoyed cake and cards for the afternoon.

A friend of Allie Olsen, Bruce Marchand, from Benedict, North Dakota visited the Olsen Farm several days last week.

Everyone is blessed with the great rain this week.

8-5. Tatum Moore deserves a “Hard Luck” trophy as her 4-H steer got spooked at the fairgrounds and had to be taken back home.

It rained an inch in the area last week and more in other areas of the county.

Brock McDaid, son of Lora (Simonson) and Dan of Helena, is writing his grandparents Eunice and Lynn Simonson.

Missy Dunvar, of Helena, visited her dad, Dave, her grandma, Shirley, north of Whitewater, her mother, Shelby and her daughter Tyanna of Malta.

Sienna and Stryker Simanton of Clancy visited with Grandpa Brent and Grandma Debbie Anderson a few days after the fair.

Jim and Pat Murdock helped great grandson, Whit Ozark, son of Billie Sky and Walter celebrate his first birthday on Sunday.

8-12. Bill and Jim Murdock hosted a supper at the North 40 Friday evening for Margaret (Deo) and George Shell, Marilyn (Deo) Hericks and their sister, Brownie, all of Apache Junction, Arizona. They are all former school chums.

The last Boots and Saddles rodeo in Malta was a huge success with lots of cousins participating. Brady, Jace, Liam Bantz (Jada Simonson), Jackson and Dylan Simonson (Chad and Leslie Simonson), Ty Murphy and Blake Ozark (Billie Sky Haynes), Royce Strobbe (Lacey Haynes), Tant, Tova and Tryan Anderson (Tanner Anderson), Jaidyn Murdock (Jerilyn Murdock), Elly and Addy Anderson (Shane Anderson) and Dawson Hammond (Nate Hammond) .

Pat Murdock was in Great Falls this past week visiting her great grandson, Aiden James Murdock, 4 months, son of Morgan and Alex Murdock. She also visited with her cousin, Maureen Contway.
