One Nation, Under God
Sharon Lee Fox, 71, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2015 at the Riverstone Health Hospice in Billings, while surrounded by family and friends. She was born the daughter of Dave and Beulah (Brown) Kirkaldie on April 12, 1944 at Fort Belknap Agency, Montana in which she was an enrolled member of the Assiniboine Tribe. Sharon spent her childhood on the Kirkaldie home place on Big Warm Creek and enjoyed dancing at pow wows and helping her dad with the family race horses. She attended elementary school at the Kirkaldie School and high school at the Harlem High School.
In 1961, Sharon married Joseph B. Fox and while married they were blessed with having four children. After parting she was blessed with eight grandchildren and six great grand-children. As the family grew and moved, she worked various jobs to support her children, eventually ending her career as the lead dietician at Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital. While raising her children she also opened her heart and home. She gave birth to four children, but she was a mom to many.
In retirement, Sharon enjoyed traveling, crosswords, and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends during any get together, usually ending the festivities with her thoroughly whipping everyone at any chosen card or board game. Her children and grandchildren are especially proud of her relationship with God and how she influenced each and every one of us. She never took credit for all the positive changes she made in our lives. We will miss her with all our hearts, but we realize that her faith has put her in a place where there is no more pain and she is surrounded by loved ones who have been waiting. We love you mom/grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Beulah; her brother Joe Kirkaldie; and her sister Shirley Tams.
She is survived by her brother Sam (Bev) Kirkaldie of Bend, Oregon, sister-in-law Lucille Kirkaldie of Hays; her children Michelle (Bud) Werk of Malta, Joe (Zelda) Fox of Billings, David Fox of Billings, and Andrew Fox of Billings; eight grandchildren, six great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins who were all special to her.
Rosary services were held on July 5, 2015 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church- Dodson, MT. followed with food at the Dodson Public School. Funeral services were held on July 6, 2015 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and burial at the Dodson Cemetery- luncheon followed at the Dodson Public School.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Riverstone Health Hospice for the special care and personal attention you gave our mother/grandmother for the remainder of her life. The comfort care that she received gave her and her family great peace.
