PUBLIC NOTICE: MALTA IRRIGATION DISTRICT WATER USERS ARE ADVISED THAT ONLY ONE MORE

IRRIGATION WILL BE PROVIDED FOR 2015 IRRIGATION SEASON

Due to the lack of water inflows and current conditions of the reservoirs throughout the Milk River Basin, until further notice Malta Irrigation District (MID) will only be able to deliver one (1) more irrigation to water users.

Once demoss is over, MID will provide a regular irrigation to each field. Water users will not be able to provide a third or fourth irrigation to fields. Water users will not be allowed to transfer water rights from one field to another in order to irrigate a field a third time.

Once water users receive the second and final irrigation, until further notice the District will shut down irrigation flows for the 2015 irrigation season. This is necessary in order to conserve any remaining waters in Sherburn, Fresno and Nelson Reservoirs for the 2016 irrigation season.

For questions regarding this announcement, please contact the MID office at (406) 654-1440 or [email protected] or contact Clint Simpson, Foreman, at (406) 654-7027.
