Camp Awards winner named; Coaches reflect on week
"I just love seeing these girls that come back every year and they just keep improving," said M-ette Head Coach Julia Tatafu. "It's probably one of the best parts of putting on this camp for me."
Coach Tatafu, along with her coaching staff Tasha Hines and Kalli Reintjes put on the 2015 M-ette Volleyball camp June 1-3. The camp had 30 participants.
The camp featured many drills, scrimmages and awards for those not only attending but standing out on the court.
The coaches would have had a one-to-ten ratio had it not been for the help of their junior assistant coaches which included 12 high school girls that have played under Coach Tatafu.
Though there were countless drills that the campers participated in, Tatafu still adds more drills, yearly.
"Every year we try to bring some new stuff," Coach Tatafu said. "Then we also keep some of the favorites every year. There are always the favorites that the kids ask 'Are we going to do this coach? Are we going to play that?'"
Coach T, as she is affectionately called is happy to oblige.
Around the World, Rodeo, Go Fish (one on one), hitting, three on three, four on four and full team scrimmages were among the favorite.
At camp there are many great young athletes, but some stand out above the rest and earn awards.
The awards are as follows:
Camper of the Day:
Monday=Addison Ulrich
Tuesday=Madyson Bain
