One Nation, Under God
On Thursday we said good-bye to a bit of Dodson history when the old McLeod store building was demolished by Ready Mix. The building, one of the oldest in Dodson, having been built shortly after that section, Dodson Original Township, was established and recorded as a Town in 1905, was and has been for several years, a hazard and an eyesore on Dodson’s main street. The Town for quite a few years have been trying to get it torn down and finally were able to have it condemned and thru generous donations were able to pay for having it done. It will be so much safer and will look so much nicer without it there.
Jerry and Bonnie Lankford also had some demolition work done while Ready Mix was in Town.
The school is having more work done, looking forward to the reunion and to the new school year that is moving up fast.
Polly Solberg has been helping Bob and Tammy Voice.
A crew of townspeople and friends worked Saturday afternoon cleaning different lots and uninhabited places in Dodson to rid the Town of lots of years of accumulation, looking forward to the Phillips County 100th fair and the all school reunion.
Sid and Merrimae Solberg were visiting in the area and attended church in Dodson on Sunday. Always nice to see them when they visit the old ‘home’ area. Jim and Dolores Shettel’s daughter, Jami, was also home visiting her parents and was a church guest.
Birthday greetings are sent to Taylor Pankratz and belated birthday greetings are sent to Edward Solberg who celebrated his birthday on the 14th. Anniversary wishes are sent to Bruce and Leona Kienenberger.
Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.
Have a wonderful week and enjoy the nice weather and all the green from the rains and the flowers blooming now.
