One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of June 3, 2015

Our sympathy to Ray McMullen and family on the loss of Arabelle. She will be missed.

WE remember Scott Moore; the Dunbar’s and Dixie (Dunbar) Moore had a memorial for Scott at Nelson Reservoir.

There have been many cattle brandings; these and other ranching operations are so cruel! (There should be other ways.)

There was a sports awards banquet in Whitewater and Saco. Many awards were given, especially to Jared Warren and Laramie Scheffelmear who earned many basketball and other sports awards.

Jean Green went to Billings to see her grandchildren in tournaments on the eastern part of the state.

Whitewater graduates painted the big W-15 on the hill toward the north. I can see it from my living room. It looks great.

Linda Berg went to Billings. I stayed with Janet (my sister.) We rode the Metra Bus and it was both fun and economical. Just 50-cents for seniors!

Special recognition for sports and other things has gone to former Whitewater resident Sophia Stiles of Malta.

Caleb Cole (Julie Austin,Cole’s son) graduated from Glasgow High.

In Malta, after Memorial Day, I was at the cemetery. Workers were taking the flags off the graves. This is a really nice project by the vets, to place the flags on the vet’s graves. Dad – Harry Austin – was in WWI and they placed a flag on his grave too. We all pray for peace and wish there would be no more wars.

Here in Whitewater on Memorial Day, I saw Pat Dunbar’s flag waving and the post office usually has the red, white and blue on its pole.

Congratulations to Kevin Reichelt (former Whitewater resident) on his new job with the airport in Bozeman. Good luck!

It is cloudy today, but no rain yet. We could sure use some rain. Go camping, if you want to in the rain.
