Malta Masons place 150 Masonic Markers at Malta Cemetery in memoriam of past members

This is the second year the Masons have placed the Masonic markers at the Malta Cemetery.

Interested in preserving the history of the Free Mason, the Malta Lodge #57 started doing research on past Masons and created the markers. Greg Oxarart pounded down a Masonic marker on Thursday, May 21, in Memoriam of past members. Russ Osmundson and Dennis Broadbrooks checked the list and map to help locate more past members.

Some markers are easier to place because many have the Masonic emblem on the headstone. It was a group effort of 10 Masons on a beautiful evening that took three hours to place 150 Masonic Markers.

There are other Masons located at several cemeteries in the county. If you know of anyone who is in need of a Masonic marker (anywhere) please contact Doc Curtis at 654-7313. They would make a nice gift in addition to celebrating the 150th Birthday (1866-2016) of the Freemasonry in Montana.
