The Malta Mustangs placed eighth as a team at the North-East B Divisional in Glasgow last Saturday. It was a meet with weather so terrible that athletes didn’t get a chance to place in the pole vault that day. The event was cancelled.
Gusts of cold wind and rain didn’t stop the long relay team from taking first place at the meet. The team consisting of Ostin Welch, Tyson Carney, Jase Galt and Allen Williamson posted a time of 3:46.88, nearly five seconds faster than Wolf Point who took second in the event.
As a whole, the Mustangs scored a total of 28 points. Glasgow placed first as a team, scoring 136 points. Fairfield was second with 71.
Tyson Carney nearly caught his personal best in javelin after posting a throw of 150-02 and taking second in the event.
Jase Bishop took fourth in javelin after posting a throw of 137-09.
Devon Raybon took fifth in the high jump after clearing 5-06.
Williamson took sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.03.
Welch placed sixth in the 200 with a time of 24.11.
