One Nation, Under God
Being at the 2015 Whitewater High School Graduation nearly made me a little emotional.
I remember the first week of 2013 sitting down at my desk and typing my very first story. That story featured many of the kids that were graduating last Friday evening.
I not only remember that first story because it was my first story, but I remember it because my first thoughts were these girls are good.
I also remember that there were a ton of kids with K names...
Keira, Kourtney, Kaycee, Kayla, and Kianna (who graduated that same year).
Then I remember meeting them for the first time and thinking man not only are these kids great athletes, but they are awesome kids.
I wanted to jump and shout when I saw a few of these young ladies praying together during a track meet because I believe this world in going down the drain more and more each day, yet there is hope.
I am a man of faith and while I don't necessarily slap people across the face with the bible, I believe it whole-heartedly.
That's why in my opinion, that was a good thing to see.
Later on those girls ran their race and ran it hard only to come up short...
I believe God does work in mysterious ways and even though those ladies didn't make it to state in the short relay, I believe they were there in that moment for a purpose even if they never know the reason. Maybe it was to give someone faith again.
In other news, it's great to see that some of my wife's family is in town from a land far away... Sweden to be exact. Sam and Mirjam welcome, welcome, welcome.
For those of you who don't know, our son PJ is walking and he loves his new pup Bruce, who I think he calls "goo" and sometimes Da-Da.. Though I'm sure he says Da-Da to anything or anyone he likes. But he does always say it a certain way towards me and that makes me feel special.
Back to the graduates of Phillips County. Just know that I am proud of you and wish you the best in your upcoming endeavors and to my Christian folks. Proverbs 3:5-6. Learn it. Live it. Press On.
