This coming weekend is the last college rodeo for the year, held in Missoula. This will be the deciding rodeo, to see which competitors compile enough points to take them to Nationals, either individually, or as a team member. The top 2 teams, men and women's, out of the Big Sky District get to go.
Marshall to compete at CNFR
Justinn Marshall finished up the Big Sky Region College rodeo this past weekend in Missoula. She posted the fastest goat time of 9.2, winning the long go. Her women's team, The University of Montana Western, ended up second place in the region, allowing them to take a 4 spot women's team to Nationals. Justinn will fill one of the those spots, in Goat Tying. She accumulated all her points in the second half of the season. Last fall she suffered a knee injury, which kept her out of goat tying, then between fall and spring season, her goat/breakaway horse died. With a borrowed horse, a newly healed knee, and hard work and determination, she gathered enough points for her third trip to the CNFR.
