M-ettes take first at Lewistown Invitational

The Malta M-ettes were dominant at the Lewistown Twilight Invitational last Tuesday, April 14. The team scored a meet high 121 points.

The team was led by sophomore Sophia Stiles, senior Darby Schye and sophomore Jada Nicholson, each of which placed first in events during the meet.

Stiles pulled a hat trick after placing first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.10 seconds, the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 9 ¾ inches and in the triple jump with a length of 36-9.75. Her triple jump is also a new school record.

Stiles also took second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.4.

Schye took first in the shot put, with a throw of 36 feet, five and a half inches.

Kaitlyn Smith took second in shot put, with a throw of 30-07. Smith also took third in javelin after leaving a mark at 104-08.50.

Nicholson won the high jump after clearing four feet, eight inches. Hailey Nicholson also cleared 4-08, but took third in the event.

Marley Manoukian took second in the pole vault after clearing 8-00, which also tied her personal best.

Manoukian took fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18:43.

The short relay team consisting of Manoukian, Schye, Smith and Stiles) took third at the meet with a time of 53.43.

The long relay team (Jada Nicholson, Riley Mortenson, Hailey Nicholson, Kalal) placed fourth with a time of 4:54.

Riley Mortenson took third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:55.

Shay Garfield took third in shot put with a throw of 30-02.50.

Kalal took fourth in both discus with a throw of 85-03 and javelin with a throw of 97-11.

The team also participated in the Malta Invitational, which was hosted last night in Malta.

The team's next meet scheduled is the Fergus Golden Eagle Invitational this Saturday in Lewistown.

The Glasgow Top Ten Meet is scheduled for next Tuesday, April 28.
