Malta Middle School News for April 22, 2015

Upcoming events for the Malta Middle School for the month of April include track at Rocky Boy this Friday, April 24, the second Midterm of the third semester on Monday, April 27. For the beginning of May, the Malta Middle School will be having May Day relays on the Friday, May 1 and Malta Middle School Invite Track Meet on Saturday, May 2.

Practice for the middle school tracksters started on April 7 with 52 students – including 16 sixth grade students – forming the roster. The coaches for this season are Sue Gilkerson, Shyla Clausen and Kalli Reintjes.

The current enrollment at the Malta Middle School is 106 (32 in the sixth, 40 in the seventh, 34 in the eighth.)

A total of 15 Malta Middle School students participated in the Academic Olympics – coached by Clausen – in Glasgow. Those students were (Team 1) Grayson Waters, Payton Clausen, Taylor Eggebrecht, Kelbee Denham and Kendall Moore and (Team 2) Kloie Marks, Kevin Henry, Reese Sjostrom, Tyler Arnold and Keith Epperson.

The sixth grade has completed their Smarter Testing for the year. They took their tests April 7 through 10. They were the first group to test in the district and we were able to work out some “kinks” without too much disruption. The seventh and eighth grade will test April 27 thru 30.
