At the movies:

Orpheum Theatre will be showing Mary Pickford in "Such a Little Queen," a charming play that brings kings and queens to the level of the common humanities.

Headline: Teachers in Attendance

The first teachers' examination in the new county was held in this city last Friday and Saturday of last week with the following teachers present. The examination was conducted in the hall over the First State Bank.

Headline: Measles Epidemics show value of public health nursing

Value of public health nursing to Montana was shown this week in records of measles epidemics.

In 1924 there were 6,049 cases of measles reported, with 73 deaths; in 1934 the totals were 7,397 and 50, but in 1939, with 7,498 cases, there were only 16 deaths.

Headline: 44 Boy Scouts participate in Klondike Derby

Fourty-four of the 53-members of the Malta Boy Scouts Troop 29 took part in a "Klondike Derby" held at Trafton Park on Sunday. Forty of the scouts manned dogsleds while their patrol leaders were the drivers on a prescribed course with stops at various stations to demonstrate scouting skills.

Rattlesnake Patrol, Darvin Nessland leader, place first with 1,337 points out of a possible 1,560. Moose Patrol, Tim Barnes leader, was second with 1,328 points followed by Beaver Patrol, Stephen Granat leader, 1,294; Pioneer Patrol, Terry Hungerford leader, 1,258 points, and Flaming Arrow Patrol, Art Lundstrom leader, 1,112 points.

Headline: Lobo Lyle and his crew

(First State Bank) was recently rated among the top 100 banks with the best chili recipe in the Nation. Lobo Lyle's Old Goat Chili with his Fast Start Beans is so devastating that the recipe is kept in the vault at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis. The Lobo Lyle consists of Lou McNamara, Terry Skones, Lisa Harris and Lyle Lilienthal.

Headline: Good Sam Winner of safety award

Residents of the Good Samaritan Retirement Center in Malta can rest easier knowing their caregivers are concentrating on safety.

The center received an award which goes to only 12 percent of the Good Samaritan Society's 224 centers annually. Malta's Center employs 65 staff members who are guided by a safety committee in encouraging employees to think and work safely.
