One Nation, Under God

Loring News for week of March 4, 2015

So much excitement around here these last two weeks with all the basketball tourneys going on! The Saco Whitewater Panthers with Trace Simonson as a freshman participated in the divisional tournament in Wolf Point. We gave it a good fight but just didn’t make it on to state. The Lady Panthers from Saco/Whitewater/ Hinsdale with local players Kourtney and Keira Simonson and Kayla and Kaycee Howard earned a second place in divisionals and are on their way to state in Missoula! And in Class B the Malta M-ettes are Champions! They will be going to state in two weeks. First the Mustangs need to play their divisional tournament in Shelby! DeeDee Johannesen, from Loring, is on the Mette team! Well wishes to all the athletes and band members!

Gale Simonson, one of our snow birds, made the trip from Arizona to watch her grand children in the tourney.

Raelynn Howard, of Havre, made the trip to Wolf Point to watch her sisters play ball.

Liz and Liam Johannesen were here to cheer on DeeDee, Liz’s sister.

Pete and Carol Lumsden have spent the last two weeks in Hawaii at a Lumsden family reunion. Carol said they had a great time but Pete was ready to be home. When they got to Billings Carmen Norville and Ellee and Aubree were at Jonnae Slade’s so they got in some grandparent time also!

Loring Lutheran Church will be on Sunday at 11 with Orvin Solberg in the pulpit. Everett Blunt will be baptized by Cindy Clark.

Venus is putting on quite a show in the evenings. It is fairly high in the western sky. It looks like March came in like a lamb so watch out for the end of the month!
