One Nation, Under God

Loring News for week of February 25, 2015

I’m sorry that I haven’t done this column for a couple of weeks. My brother, Scott and his daughter Regan, of Scottsdale, AZ, and his son Ross of Denver my sister, Debbie and her grandson Ayden of Billings were visiting Barbara Cowan and the Stordahls. David, Brandie and Rocco Stordahl of Billings also came up to Loring for the weekend. Becca and Robert Engum of Great Falls were visiting at the Clarks last weekend. They checked out the Happy Feet Dancers at Whitewater as Mylee was a dancer! They checked out their tip ups at Nelson, also. The high school kids who are playing basketball are at tournaments this week for districts in Scobey for Class C and Wolf Point for Class B. Saco Whitewater boys took 3rd and the girls took 1st. The Malta M-ettes took first and the Mustangs took second. Now, we are on to Divisionals this next week. Good Luck everyone! The waxing crescent moon, Venus and Mars are putting on quite a show in the evenings. They are right beside each other. Loring Lutheran Church will hold services at 9:30 on the first of March with Cindy Clark officiating. The elementary students are also gearing up for a little basketball tournament season of their own. They have been practicing with Saco and Hinsdale. Our weather has run the whole realm of possibilities this week. We are near 65 degrees, then subzero. It rained, snowed and was sunny. Thick clouds, clear skies, partially cloudy, and foggy were some of the weather that I saw! On Monday Dixie Stordahl gave a tour of the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum for a group of students from Opheim. You may have heard how the farmer found his wife…he tractor!
