G. Ross Robinson

BILLINGS/SACO- G. Ross Robinson, 83, an Air Force Veteran and retired rancher, died February 2, 2015 in a Billings hospital.

Memorial services were held Saturday, February 7, at the Saco Methodist Church. Interment of his cremated remains were in the Grandview Cemetery with Military Honors. Ross was born November 6, 1931 in Saco, the son of George G. and Ada (Korman) Robinson. Ross graduated from Saco High School in 1949 and continued his education at MSU in Bozeman where he obtained a bachelors' degree in Agriculture of Science in 1953 (Go Bobcats); and Married June Coton. Two sons Craig and Mike were born to this union. After graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF. He trained in Georgia and Texas later was assigned to Malstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls; after serving three years he then returned to the Rockin R Ranch where he remained until he retired. He always took great pride in the cows he raised.

Later in life he married Doris and became part of her family. They spent a lot of time traveling and heading south to Arizona where they spent many winters. Doris and Ross spent two years travelling full time by Rv before settling in Billings. Ross had many friends and family who he loved visiting with, over the phone or in person. He served on many boards including church, school, Saco Dehy, BLM Advisory, MSGA director and share holder at the First Security Bank.

He is preceded in death by his wife June, parents George and Ada Robinson; and half brother Don Vaupel of Havre. He is survived by his wife Doris of Billings; sons, Craig of Saco and Mike of Billings; Step daughters Sherri Peigneux of Billings, Debbie Schaff of Fishtail, Step son Larry Mavencamp and grandchildren and great grand children.
