Panthers sweep Dodson Coyotes; Lose to Bearcubs in Frazer

The Saco-Whitewater Panthers had a lukewarm weekend, defeating the Dodson Coyotes 65-24 in Whitewater for the team's Senior Night. They did drop the next game 82-26 to the Frazer Bearcubs last Saturday.

In their Senior Night victory, four seniors were honored including Colter Lammerding, Justin Funk, Chance Love and Jeret Warren.

Warren had a game leading 19 points.Love and Engel had 12 points a piece in the win. Freshman Trace Simonson had 10 points. Christian Menge had five points. Justin Funk had four points and Channing Mavencamp had three points.

For Dodson, Dane Strike had 10 points. Jasper Doney and Tyrese Messerly had five points a piece. Gavin Fox had four points.

The game was more entertaining than the score indicated.

Saco-Whitewater came out extremely focused, out-scoring Dodson 19-6 in the first quarter, though both teams forced multiple turnovers.

In the second quarter, Dodson found that they could score with Saco-Whitewater, putting up a 13 point effort, while only giving up 11 points. However Saco-Whitewater used backup players for most of the quarter until half-time.

In the second half Saco-Whitewater ran a way with the game, outscoring Dodson 35-5.

The Panthers did not give up a single point in the third quarter.

Saco-Whitewater played their whole team and nearly everyone scored.

SACO-WHITEWATER

The Saco-Whitewater Panthers then lost a tough road game to Frazer, last Saturday. The score was a 82-26 blowout.

The Panthers were led by Simonson who had eight points and two treys. Warren scored six points. Funk scored four points in the game. Channing Mavencamp and DePuydt had three points. Menge had two points.

The Frazer Bearcubs knocked down 11 treys in the game.

The Panthers' next opponents will be the cream of the crop of both Class B and C.

The Glasgow Scotties home gym is one of the most hostile environments in the state and the Panthers are scheduled to play them Tomorrow night at 8 p.m.

Hinsdale is currently standing on top of 3C basketball with a 7-0 in the conference and 11-1 record overall.

The last time these teams met, Saco-Whitewater lost 61-27.

Tip off against Hinsdale will be at 7:30 p.m. in Saco.

DODSON

On top of their 65-24 loss to the Saco-Whitewater Panthers, the Dodson Coyotes lost 56-9 to the Scobey Spartans last Saturday.

Gavin Fox led the team with three points. David Jaynes, Trevor Banyai and Dane Strike each had two points a piece.

Dodson will have their hands full against the Turner Tornadoes, who they lost to earlier this season.

The game is scheduled to be in Dodson at 7:30 p.m.

They will then go to Nashua to face the Porcupines.

The last time these teams met Dodson lost 67-36, but the team put together a solid second half.

If they can score with Nashua, the outcome may be different.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Nashua.
