Floyd Griffin Kodalen

Floyd Griffin Kodalen, 91 years of age, passed away of natural causes, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Cambridge Court, his residence away from home. Croxford Funeral Home is handling the cremation services and a family and close friend service will be held at Brown's Lake at a future date.

Floyd was born July 17, 1923, in Dodson, Montana, where he later graduated from Dodson High School. Floyd went on to join the US Army Corp and later transferred to the United States Air Force, where he eventually retired as a Master Sergeant at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Floyd continued his service with an additional twenty plus years in the capacity of Civil Service at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Lois Kodalen, as well as his wife of 61 years, June Elizabeth Kodalen (Sloan), whom passed on August 11th, 2009. Floyd was also the eldest of five siblings, all of whom preceded his passing; brothers, Gary and Lynn, and sisters, Phyllis, Shirley and Merna. He was also preceded in death by one son, Danny Goans.

Floyd, an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, is survived by one daughter, Mona Goddard, a grandson whom he and June raised, Tod Paske, additional grandchildren, Traci Lee Taylor, Shawn Goans and Schanna Swartz, as well as six great grandchildren.

He was an active member with the local VFW, VA Office and had previously been a volunteer with the Malmstrom AFB Museum.
