Malta AAU / Little Guy Wrestling
Practice will begin Monday, February 2nd at the Wrestling Center at 7 p.m. An email will be sent to past members detailing advanced registration and practice details. If you’d like to be added to the email in advance please send an email to one of the Club Contacts. Additional flyers will be sent out at the schools. Gospel Jamboree business meeting
1-22. The Milk River Gospel Jamboree will hold their regular annual business meeting and election of officers on Thursday, January 22, at 7p.m. at Malta Community Church, 203 S 4th E, Malta, MT. If you are interested in being a part of the Jamboree or helping to continue to bring gospel concerts to our area, please attend. All meetings are open to the public and public participation is welcome and encouraged.
Rock and Veit Retirement Party
1-22. A party honoring Bill Rock, Fire Chief and Matt Veit, Asst. Fire Chief in their retirement after 14 years of service will be held on January 22nd, 2015 from 3-4 p.m. at Malta City Hall. Please join us for cake and punch.
Mustang Foundation Soup Feed
1-23. On Friday, January 23, the Mustang Foundation will be hosting a soup meal during the basketball against Glasgow starting at 4:30 p.m. The meal will include soup, rolls and desserts and all proceeds will go toward the Mustang Foundation.
Triangle Senior Computer Class
12-23. Triangle Communications will be holding a free hands-on class at the Senior Center -Friday, January 23 at 10 a.m. for Senior Citizens. Subjects to be covered are E-mail ins and outs, surfing the Internet safely, photo sharing, security, and answering any questions or problems you are having with your computer. Free Throw Championship
1-25. The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship will be held on Sunday, January 25 at the Malta Elementary School Gym starting at 1 p.m.
PC Motor Sports
1-24. Phillips County Motor Sports will meet Saturday, January 24 at noon in Strectch’s Casino.
Swingen Concert in Glasgow
1-25. Malta High School Choir director Larry Swingen will be giving a pipe organ concert at First Lutheran Church in Glasgow on Sunday, January 25 at 2 p.m. The free concert will include both classical music by JS Bach and also traditional organ pieces.
KC Soup-r-Bowl
1-25. On Sunday, January 25, the KC Soup-r-Bowl will be held at St. Mary’s Church. Homemade Soup at 11:45 a.m. and kickoff at 1 p.m. Bingo with a twist. For price information contact Mike Ereaux at 658-2613.

Honor Band/Choir in Glasgow
1-26. The District 12 and 13 Honor Band and Choir Concert will be on Monday, January 26 in Glasgow. - Selected students from Malta High School will rehearse and perform a concert in Glasgow at Glasgow HS Gym starting at 6:30 p.m. There is a small admission charge and all are invited to attend.
PC Health Care Foundation Dinner and Auction
1-30. The 24th Annual Phillips County Health Care Dinner and Auction fundraiser will be held on Friday, January 30 at City Hall in Malta. A no host happy hour will start at 5 p.m. and dinner will start at 6 p.m. with the live auction to follow. Also currently accepting auction item donations at the hospital. Schumacher Memorial Livestock Day
2-11. The 2015 annual Jim Schumacher Memorial Livestock Day will be held February 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Great Northern Lodge meeting room. Topics include: resurrecting your syringes, hay management options to reduce mold, 50 K genetic evaluation/Certified Angus Beef advantages for commercial producers, and an update by NCBA on federal legislation including EPA, ESA, and COOL. Lunch will be sponsored by the Malta Area Chamber and Agriculture. Full program description will be in next week’s paper.
