NOTICE OF NEW OPENCUT SAND AND GRAVEL MINE
As per Montana Law this notice is to inform the public of a proposed new opencut sand and gravel mine. This site now known as the Sterling Carroll Pit will be located in the Section 28, T33N, R31E, Phillips County. This site will be used for MDOT Project# NH 99-1(6)7 AKA: 11 KM N OF MALTA-NORTH. Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. will be operating this site for the removal of approximately 300,000 cubic yards of sand and gravel. Initially a portable crushing spread will be on site for approximately 200 days. This spread may be operated 9 days on 5 days off 24 hours per day. A portable pugmill and a portable hot mix asphalt plant may also be operated at this site, tentative hours of operation for this equipment will be 14 hours per day 5 to 6 days per week for approximately 100 days.
